Healthy Living Is Not Enough

Healthy Living Is Not Enough to Help You Achieve Your Ambitions Goals

Traditional healthy living is not enough to help you achieve your ambitious goals with your wellbeing intact, especially in the second half of your work life.

  • Are you currently spending (potentially wasting) time, energy, and money, on endless personal development books that you can barely get through?
  • Are you going from one program to the next (diet, exercise, etc.) that you start but don’t follow?
  • Are you wondering what in the heck will work, long term or at all, to help you look, feel, and perform better?

I can completely relate to those questions; I used to ask them all the time.

Like you, any time I wanted to increase my energy and improve my health and performance, I would get caught up in operation “money-suck,” hopping from one book and program to the next but never really solving my problem. That is until I realized the way I was living, and working wasn’t working. Quite literally, I had so much going on; I was barely hanging on. There simply wasn’t enough time and energy.

To quote Canadian professor of psychology, Jordan Peterson, “people don’t usually come into my office because they have mental health problems; they come in because they have unmanageable lives.”

That was me, and every so often, I tread very close to that breach of things getting unmanageable as an entrepreneur and small business owner. I bet you can relate.

Still, today I usually know what to do and why, how to do it and when at the right level, intensity, and consistency to restore balance, maintain vibrant health and peace of mind. This is the very definition of maintaining balance these days.

But that’s because I did something about it in the macro of my life that made it easy to manage in the micro, day-to-day. It wasn’t one thing, but several things. Instead of coping with stress in ways that created more stress and relying on the usual go-to routines (eat less, exercise more…) to deal with the symptoms, I developed a performance lifestyle.

You see, like you, my drive for success, (accomplishing and achieving) was not going to change any time soon. I love what I do, I have a family to provide for, and I enjoy the challenge of solving big cultural problems. Not coincidently, the problem I’ve dedicated my life to is helping people change, improve, and optimize the way they live. And the reason why I’ve made that my mission and purpose for being in business is because I’ve learned a fascinating insight on the path.

When it comes to being successful in anything, the health industries, fitness industries, and personal growth and success industries give you only a nearsighted, partial view of the lifestyle that can catapult your success AND well-being together.

And they rarely, if ever, address the crux of a lifestyle that supports you and what you are up to in the world. And that is the core need to manage your energy. Every aspect of your lifestyle has two purposes, 1) to help you accomplish and achieve your goals, and 2) to do it in the most efficient and effective way (aka to manage your energy).

Getting To The Root Of Any Problem —in particular, is the difficulty most of us experience when it comes to healthy living and being successful.

When you are challenged, possibly overwhelmed, and depleted of energy, you find yourself coping with stress in ways that create more stress, and not more energy, and you can’t quite put your finger on the solution to your problem; here’s a strategy for you.

Ask yourself, what’s the EITR–the elephant in the room?

Healthy living can be very challenging to most people in today’s incredibly fast-paced world, but there are reasons why it’s challenging, that (once addressed) can make healthy living normal and natural, even in a fast-paced performance culture.

You see, the most challenging part of resolving anything, let alone your present situation and circumstances, is coming to terms with the fact that the answer is usually not one thing.

But while there is usually not one thing, there is likely one big thing, comprised of “many things,” typically the EITR.

Address that.

It’s far easier to take on the elephant than chaise foxes.

If you want more energy, better health, higher performance, and greater success, then it’s time to optimize the foundation that everything else you do, and if you’ll do it well in life, depends on.

It’s your lifestyle.
